GREEN AMBITIONS

Embracing a ‘nature-positive’ future with OrangeTip

Our society faces numerous challenges, with the alarming impact on our natural capital due to habitat loss, declining ecosystems, and climate change demanding immediate, substantial action. The consequences of inaction extend beyond species loss; they pose significant economic risks. Biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse affect food security, water quality, healthcare, and tourism, ultimately impacting our economy.

Seizing the moment

Now is our moment to rise and work toward a society and economy that not only prevents the degradation of nature but actively contributes to it—a ‘nature-positive’ society. By going beyond the sustainability preached over the past decade, we can restore and regenerate ecosystems, ensuring a harmonious relationship between businesses and the natural world. Embracing ‘nature positivity’ will not only help reduce our risks but also unlock new opportunities for innovation, market leadership, and long-term success.

Join us on the journey

Let us seize this moment to lead the way to a prosperous future where biodiversity thrives. By doing so, we ensure the resilience and profitability of businesses. Together, we can create a world where business and nature flourish in harmony. Join us on this transformative journey toward a ‘nature-positive’ approach.

Why act now?

Across society, there is a growing recognition of the interplay between the economy and ecology. Human activities are rendering our environment uninhabitable. International goals, as outlined in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the European Union’s objectives to be climate-neutral and restore nature by 2050, serve as clear signals. This extends beyond policy objectives and is translated into legislation and regulations. The time for action has arrived.

Navigating the CSRD

One such aspect is the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The CSRD will apply to companies currently under the NFRD from January 1, 2024, and to large companies* not currently falling into this category from 2025. For listed SMEs, the CSRD will apply from January 1, 2026.

A company is considered large if it meets at least two of the three criteria below:

  • More than 250 employees
  • Annual revenue exceeding 40 million euros
  • A balance sheet exceeding 20 million euros
Why choose OrangeTip?

At its core, the degradation of our natural system can be traced back to the disconnection between humans and nature. Since the Enlightenment and industrialization, we have been gradually detaching ourselves from dependence on the natural system. In the last 50 years, this trend has been exacerbated by globalization. Supply chains in global segmented markets have become opaque. The process from raw material to product is almost incomprehensible to most, leading to a detachment from the natural system. Even the production of our food has become so modernized and mechanized that the soil, once a living system, has been reduced to a substrate.

Our role in the journey

As biodiversity agents with a fundamental mission to reconnect humans and nature, we see a role for ourselves in this context. We aim to bring nature back to unexpected places—back into supply chains, into the minds of engineers and technicians, and onto the tables of corporate decision-makers. We aim to remind people that we are inherently a part of nature, deeply rooted in a complex yet beautiful natural system. A system that we don’t need to battle but can embrace and harvest from, provided we treat it with care.
